Johannes Beham

Johannes Beham was at a very young age, already highly attracted to the sound of the piano. However, he did not receive his first piano lessons until he was 12 years old. Sybille Ortner was one of his first important teachers. Just three years later, he attended the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Plattling. At the same time he took piano lessons with the renowned Passau pianist Peter Walchshäusl, who prepared him intensively for the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Johannes Beham studied there until he went on to the Pilsen Conservatory to join the piano class of the director Miroslav Brejcha. Because of that, he learned Czech within a few months. After completing his studies, he got to know one of his most important mentors, the pianist Christoph Schmid. Johannes Beham loves learning languages: besides German, English and Czech, he speaks Spanish and French fluently, which helps a lot when the duo is on the road to play concerts abroad. Since 2021 he plays together with his duopartner Christoph Goldstein throughout Germany and other european countries. They also perform at well-known festivals such as the Europäische Wochen Passau, the AMMERSEErenade and the International South Bohemian Music Festival. Johannes Beham also works as a choir director and organist. Social engagement is also very important for him. Together with his duo partner, he regularly gives charity concerts for organisations such as the Niederbayerisches Kinderpalliativ Team, Malteser etc. With the format „Klassik unterwegs“, they bring classical music to retirement homes and clinics under the auspices of the Europäische Wochen Passau.
